About Dermatix
Dermatix is a topical silicone gel that dries quickly to form an invisible, semi-permeable barrier and helps maintain the skin’s moisture balance, while aiding the management of scarred skin surfaces resulting from surgery, burns, and other injuries. The semi-permeable nature of the layer allows it to act like an extra layer of skin. This product is suitable for use on sensitive skin and can be used on children. As with all topical applications it is strongly advised that a "patch test" is carried out with a small amount of the gel on the skin (Just behind the ear is a good place) before using on the affected areas. In the unlikely event of an allergic reaction occurring do not use again.

Scars are the result of natural wound healing. Sometime however scars can develop that are unusually pronounced, discoloured, or otherwise unsightly. There are a number of factors that contribute to this including; genetic predisposition, site of injury or incision, size of the injury or incision, your age, and even your ethnicity. Dermatix has been shown to flatten, soften and smooth scars, relieve the itching and discomfort of scars as well as reduce the discoloration associated with scars. Easily applied to all areas of the skin, including the face, joints and flexures, and dries rapidly to form an invisible “sheet”. For the treatment and prevention of keloids and hypertrophic scars (such as those resulting from general surgical procedures, trauma wounds and burns), after the wound has healed and the skin surface is intact.

Using Dermatix: Wait for the wound to heal completely. Do not use on broken skin. Keep away from the eyes and mucous membranes (inside of the nose, inside the mouth, the ano-gential area). Apply a thin layer of Dermatix night and morning. Allow to dry for at least 5 minutes before applying cosmetics, sunscreens, or covering with clothing. Results may take 2 months to be apparent. Take photos of the area before, and at regular intervals while using Dermatix to track progress. Prolonged use may give better results. Use alone. Do not use in combination with other topical skin treatments or other produtcs.
